I opened a traditional IRA account a few days ago right before the crypto market truly tanked. I sold off what crypto I had today at a loss of at least $10,000. Would it make sense to switch from a traditional IRA to a Roth since I’ll already have my taxes reduced from the capital losses? In this way, I would be able to transfer the tax benefit to the growth and retirement rather than waste that benefit this year, right? Btw, I’m paying 29% taxes on my current income.
