Norm MacDonald passed yesterday. He’s one of the few comics who makes me actually laugh out loud every time I see him doing something or hear him on Howard Stern or whatever. Just an absolute genius. And his slow burn jokes are legendary.
A lot of people are sharing his SNL clips and the OJ Simpson trial era Weekend Update stuff he did. His Burt Reynolds impression was great because it was really a Norm MacDonald playing Burt Reynolds impression more than anything else.
You may not have seen this one…this is my type for humor for sure. He completely derails this Courtney Thorne-Smith hit on Conan but does it with such wide-eyed enthusiasm and aw shucks earnestness that the host and guest forget to be upset. They’re laughing too hard!
