A Commack building that was last home to a bar and restaurant is being transformed into a funeral parlor.
The owners of Branch Funeral Homes have purchased the 9,100-square-foot building on 1.93 acres at 2115 Jericho Turnpike for $3.5 million.
Once the home of a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant, the Commack property was last leased to Bar Louie, a gastropub which opened in 2016 and closed in 2019.
The Commack site will be the third location for Branch Funeral Homes, which has been owned and operated by the Vigliante family since 1974. The company has locations in Miller Place and Smithtown.
The new Commack location should be open in the spring of 2022, according to company principal John Vigliante.
Louis Fisher and Dennis Gandley of Douglas Elliman Commercial and Matthew Gault of Marcus & Millichap represented the buyer, as well as the seller, Cinron Associates, in the sales transaction.
