SAP Concur has promoted Charlie Sultan to chief operating
officer and SVP strategic planning, according to his LinkedIn profile. Sultan
joined SAP Concur in 2014 coming off an 15-year tenure at American Airlines,
followed by two years as the COO for Bankrate Insurance.
Sultan’s most recent role at SAP Concur was SVP
global content, market and supplier strategy. Under his leadership the SAP Concur team in 2019 forged New Distribution Capability pathways through Travel Services Select configurations and a partnership with Travelfusion. British Airways, Lufthansa were the first two airlines to distribute NDC content through those configurations. United Airlines joined that group in April 2021.
In a comment to an industry
colleague on LinkedIn, he specified that his new role would continue to cover
content and distribution. “Once in distribution[,] always in
distribution,” he quipped on the professional networking site, specifically
confirming that he would still be involved in SAP Concur’s NDC efforts.
